USB ports are plentiful, including some versions that incorporate outlets in the front seatbacks. Most Sorentos wear synthetic leather upholstery, although cloth and genuine leather are options. The cabin comfortably accommodates four in the best comfort a mainstream brand can offer. Available all-wheel drive sweetens the deal in colder regions. They’re smoother with the 8-speed dual-clutch automatic that’s sometimes fussy with the turbo-4s. The hybrids are our favorites, and not just for their fuel economy ratings of 30 mpg combined or more. Hybrids add more energy with 227 hp, or as a plug-in with 261 hp and 32 miles of electric range per full charge. Powertrain options include a basic 2.5-liter inline-4 with 191 hp or a reasonably athletic 281-hp turbo-4 in gas models. Inside the cabin, the dash has a complicated and busy look, although the interior offers generous space and most trims have a user-friendly 10.3-inch touchscreen. This crossover is only available with three rows of seating, with a brash exterior that melds a variety of styling motifs into a complex package. We expect the Sorento to carry over unchanged for 2024, after just a few adjustments to trim levels in 2023. Last year we awarded the 2023 Sorento a 6.3 out of 10 on the TCC scale.
